Paul Minter is a student, critic, and lover of all things film. Paul has had an obsession with movies ever since his parents took him to the theatre to see his first film, Beauty and the Beast. From there he went on to destroy most of his family’s VHS tapes with his constant need to watch, re-watch, and re-watch yet again nearly every movie he could get his hands on. Since then Paul has continued to watch scores of movies more times than he is able to count. His tastes have broadened from the Disney classics and Hollywood blockbusters to films from all around the world and from every genre.

In 2008 he was accepted to Chapman University’s film school as a Screenwriting major. There he learned about how successful films are made, how films are analyzed and critiqued by professionals, and how to create and explore the elements of successful movies. He also minored in French in order to read Cahiers du Cinema without translation. He hopes one day to take these lessons and achieve his dream of being an auteur of cinema.

In March 2012 he created his YouTube channel, Classics of Cinema. Inspired by his hero François Truffaut’s work with Cahiers du Cinema, his channel specializes in reviews of the best movies cinema has to offer.
